1. Information We Access

SMS Data

ScamShield requests permission to read your SMS messages locally on your device to identify scams, phishing, and fraud. This processing occurs entirely on your device. We do not upload or store your message content on our servers.

Contact Data

ScamShield accesses your device's contacts locally to resolve and display sender names in your inbox and to distinguish between known contacts and unknown potential threats. This data is processed ephemerally, remains on your device, and is never transmitted off your device or shared with third parties.

2. How Your Data Is Analyzed (AI)

To provide high-accuracy detection, ScamShield uses the Google Gemini API. When a suspicious message is identified:

• The text of the SMS (and only the text) is sent securely to Google's servers for classification.
• No personal metadata (such as your phone number, the sender's name, or your contact list) is included in this request.
• The AI returns a verdict (Safe/Scam) which is then displayed to you locally.

3. What We Do Not Do

• We do not store your SMS messages or Contacts on any server.
• We do not collect your phone number or stable personal identity.
• We do not share your data (SMS or Contacts) with advertisers or third parties.
• We do not track your location or usage patterns for marketing.

4. Security Standards

We use industry-leading encryption and local processing to ensure that your sensitive information never enters the cloud. Our AI models represent a new paradigm in "Privacy-First" detection.
